In this episode, we compare what each of us loved about this season’s interviews; why “hero” is the wrong word for our guests; the role of family in professional success; how Praxis helps founders come up with ideas; the answer to “how many vocations should we have?”; and who gets to ask the questions in this show.

We also preview our next podcast, Venture, coming out later in 2019.

Mary Elizabeth Goodell is energized by connecting people to the resources they need to flourish. At Wheaton College, she earned a BA in Business and Economics in between volunteering with non-profits, and researching ways to give victims of human trafficking access to business skills. After winning a pitch competition with a social enterprise idea to support sexually exploited women, she was introduced to Praxis, and caught a vision for redemptive entrepreneurship. Upon graduation, she moved to Chicago to serve as the Director of Donor Relations for Hope Works Community Development. In the City of Broad Shoulders, she volunteered with New Name Ministries leading outreach to trafficked women in massage parlors. Now living in Queens, she joyfully connects entrepreneurs within the Praxis network as the Community Manager.

Scott Kauffmann is the Content Partner for Praxis, where he oversees the Praxis Course, podcasts, publishing, and thought leadership for building redemptive ventures; he also coaches entrepreneurs in the Praxis community in strategy, storytelling, and content development. Scott began his career with eighteen years at Accenture in technology, change management, global program management, and innovation. He then coached and consulted with nonprofit and business leaders, and began working directly with entrepreneurs during his eight years as the Vice President of Content and Strategy for Redeemer City to City, a leadership development agency for church planters in global cities, where he served as Tim Keller’s lead editor and content architect. Scott lives with his family in Manhattan.

The Redemptive Edge is hosted by Andy Crouch and features active members of the Praxis community. Produced by Mary Elizabeth Goodell and Scott Kauffmann of Praxis, with Mike Cosper, Mark Owens, Scott Slucher, and the team at Narrativo. Music by Eric Kinny.
